We’re all about relaxation, with a number of comfy ‘hidey-holes’ just for your enjoyment…
From the very moment you arrive, we hope you will pick up on the relaxed atmosphere that pervades the whole site, and it's no accident that you are greeted with a very informal and welcoming open-plan reception area, with an abundance of comfy chairs. Adjacent to this is the Library snug area, which on cooler days and evenings, has a rip-roaring fire to snuggle up in front of whilst reading, or perhaps savouring a post-dinner Cognac!
Oak Room
To the right of Reception is our lovely Oak Room, which as its name denotes is panelled in fine oak and is made all the cosier by the addition of a log-burning fire. Towards the rear, is our all-important licensed bar, just waiting for your order. Incidentally, this is just one of our function suites which can be hired for private events/parties etc., and the bar can, of course, be closed-off should this not be required.
The Grand Lounge
A capacious room; having large windows affording a light and airy feel, and providing stunning views across the lawns to the river beyond. Although quite sizeable, little enclaves and cosy corners abound in this room, providing ample opportunity to sit with friends or family, to snuggle up with a good book; play board games or just simply to soak up the tranquil atmosphere.
Delightful objects d’art and paintings lovingly adorn the whole area, along with bowls of fresh fruit and displays of freshly cut flowers, culminating in a very cosy, homely ambience in which to totally switch off and relax.
Delectable light lunches from Chef’s selection can be enjoyed here, and each afternoon, we’ll tempt you with our mouth-watering selection of Welsh Teas with freshly created sandwiches, Welsh cakes; scones dripping with cream and homemade preserves, and slices of heavenly chocolate cake, but when the sun comes out, our guests often prefer to enjoy their tea served outside on the patio, underneath the spreading chestnut tree!
Restaurant and Orangery
Naturally flowing on from the Grand Lounge, French doors deliver you into our light and airy Orangery; a more recent addition to the old house where delicious selections of Welsh breakfasts are served each morning. Interconnecting doors connect into the Grand Dining Room, which can be opened up to extend the dining area for Weddings and functions.
