Lake Country house and Spa

About the Hotel

An air of elegance and calm informality pervades this exquisitely furnished Welsh country house. Standing serenely in its own fifty acres of parkland, with sweeping lawns, rhododendron lined pathways and riverside walks, this magnificent retreat is comfort epitomised.

The house itself is an architectural bagatelle, begun in 1840 and remodelled in 1900. The helf-timbering cries out mock-Tudor, yet the verandas and French windows give it a colonial air. Built as a hunting and fishing lodge, the hotel has a rich history; from the turn of the twentieth century until World War II, it was the only barium spa resort outside of Germany.
