We welcome you to join us for a traditional country house Christmas party. Enjoy sumptuous gourmet meals by candle light, beautiful Welsh countryside and of course good company in a relaxed informal atmosphere. The lake country house prides its self on making the perfect Christmas a relaxed and joyful affair. Friendly service, fine wines and luxurious bedrooms all contribute to our country house Christmas.
Arrive on Christmas Eve for afternoon tea in our lounges beside crackling fires, take your time to get to know this stunning country house and its beautiful grounds. Dinner is served from 7.30pm so just enough time for a glass of champagne in the hot tub at our spa. After dinner, the midnight mass is held at the church of St Cadmarch in the village.
Christmas day breakfast is served in the Dining Room from 8.30 to 9.45am. There is plenty of time for a walk of the grounds before champagne and canapés are served. Our traditional luxury 5 course Christmas lunch follows from 1pm. As well as the traditional turkey, Sean our head chef will tempt you with other culinary delights.
Enjoy a liqueur and coffee after dinner or take an afternoon nap to make some room for mince pies and Christmas cake served later in the afternoon.
If you just fancy a nibble or a full meal in the evening rest assured that our cold Christmas supper has something for everyone.
After breakfast, why not take a swim in the pool or indulge in a luxury treatment at the spa. For a full range of treatments available, please see our treatment menu.
Boxing day lunch gives Sean the head chef a chance to prepare you some slightly more traditional bistro style dishes, cod in beer batter served with thick cut chips, coarse pea puree and homemade tartare sauce is always a favorite. The evening on the other hand gives him the chance to show of his culinary skills with a 4 course gourmet meal served in the candle light of our award winning restaurant.
After breakfast and weather permitting why try your hand at some fishing on the lake or the river which is good for grayling all year round. The path through the grounds takes you along the river and returns you back to the hotel via the golf course and takes about 45 minutes is a great mid morning walk. Return just in time for coffee and mince pies served in the lounge followed by a light lunch at 1.00pm.
To finish of this country house Christmas the Welsh evening on December 27th. There will be a magnificent Welsh dinner, followed by a concert in the lounge by the Builth Wells male voice choir. A truly memorable end to a welsh country house Christmas.
